# Nominees

## Mark Filion

__Current Affiliation:__ Marketing Manager @ Collabora

__Statement of Contribution:__

I was the proud organizer of the (awesome) 2019 edition of XDC in Montreal,
which brought in record attendance, new sponsors, and for the first time,
attendee & speaker gifts. While I am not developer, and my only contribution
(thus far) to X.Org are my event organization skills, the community still
welcomed this outsider with open arms, encouraging me to become a first time
member this year.

__Personal Statement:__

For X.Org to grow as an organization and continue on its path to success, it
needs to start valuing non-technical work that can be contributed by its
members. Therefore, if elected, I would like to put my marketing knowledge to
use to support X.Org in its quest to find new, reliable sources of revenue.
Whether it's a question of refreshing the X.Org branding & website, finding new
sponsors, or helping XDC reach new heights, I would love to have the opportunity
to help solidify the foundations for the future of X.Org.

## Keith Packard

__Current Affiliation:__ keithp.com

__Personal Statement:__

The X.org board continues to perform an important role in the X community. Over
the last couple of years, the primary activities of the board have involved
organizing technical conferences and providing funding for developers to attend
both those conferences and other important free software conferences around the
world. I've been involved in the board since the reformation of the X.org
foundation. If elected, I will continue to support free software developers
working on the X window system and related technologies.

## Harry Wentland

__Current Affiliation:__ AMD

__Statement of Contribution:__

I contribute mainly to AMD's DC display driver and occasionally contribute and
review core DRM patches.

__Personal Statement:__

My first term on the X.Org board was insightful and made me painfully aware of
of the challenges of running a volunteer organization with a large impact on the
wide Linux community and various businesses. As a member of the board I would
like to continue fostering an open community that benefits everyone and look at
ways for the board to continue putting the right mechanisms and resources in
place to drive that vision.

## Eric Anholt

__Current Affiliation:__ Google

__Statement of Contribution:__

I am a Google employee working on the Mesa graphics stack for ChromeOS, and have in the past worked for Broadcom on the Raspberry Pi (vc4, v3d) graphics drivers, Intel on their graphics driver and made major contributions (EXA, glamor) to the X Server.

__Personal Statement:__

I have been happy to serve as the board's treasurer, ensuring that we maintain communication with SPI's treasurer, arrange payments from our sponsors, and reimburse our conference organizers and sponsored attendees. If elected, I plan to continue in that role.

## Lucas Stach

__Current Affiliation:__ Pengutronix

__Statement of Contribution:__

I've started working on open-source graphics, specifically the Nouveau driver,
in my spare time. In 2012 the X.Org foundation enabled me to take part in XDC by
covering my travel costs. A while later I started a professional career working
on the Linux kernel and related graphics components, which eventually led to me
being the maintainer for the etnaviv driver for Vivante GPUs. In the last few
years I've been able to visit many conferences, both as attendee and speaker,
but none of them master the balancing act of being both very high-profile, with
in- depth technical discussions, and at the same time having an extremely low
barrier of entry quite like XDC.

__Personal Statement:__

I believe that this reflects very well on the whole X.Org community, as well as
the X.Org foundation, which makes this possible due to its clear mission to
foster this kind of open collaboration. When elected I would like to make sure
that the foundation stays focused on this path and continues to be the critical
resource it is today in bringing together our community.

## Siqueira

__Current Affiliation:__ AMD

__Statement of Contribution:__

I contribute mainly to AMD's DC display driver and VKMS. Occasionally, I
contribute and review core DRM/IGT patches.

__Personal Statement:__

In 2017 I had the opportunity to join GSoC for working in the DRM subsystem by
helping to create a driver named VKMS, this opportunity totally changes my life
path for the best. Before VKMS I was pursuing my desire to became a Kernel
developer but I constantly failed, thanks to X.Org foundation, Daniel Vetter,
and Gustavo Padovan now I'm working in a field that I enjoy. As a result of my
admiration for the X.Org/Freedesktop foundation, I decided that I want to help
to foster the community by helping with the organization's internal issues.
