refactor indescribable wall of code into reusable hunks
supposed to be logically the same before and after except for the addition of allow pPreviousWindow to be the pFocusWindow as well as the pMouseWindow which I see as a good thing Change-Id: I4810146397850abab90d37d0e0c2bfd674faa208
