# X and colour management

Kai-Uwe Behrmann

On several examples I will show where the currently assumed sRGB monitor space will fail [WWW, hardware technologie, art/printing]. Why did the build in possibilities in X not suffice in the past? The edges to have a consistent and versatile desktop are explained from a colour management point of view.

If it is enough time, an proposal for an CMS architecture can follow as well as a demo about current speed and other details. (A colour managed workplace can been seen on the OfficeProductivity booth during LinuxTag - CinePaint)
