<paragraph xml-lang="en-US" id="par_idN10685" role="paragraph" l10n="CHG"><ahelp hid=".">Select the language used for the user interface, for example menus, dialogs, help files. You must have installed at least one additional language pack or a multi-language version of %PRODUCTNAME.</ahelp></paragraph>
<paragraph xml-lang="en-US" id="par_id0125201009445727" role="paragraph" l10n="NEW">The "Default" entry selects the language of the user interface for the operating system. If this language is not available in the %PRODUCTNAME installation, the language of the %PRODUCTNAME installation is the default language.</paragraph>

<paragraph xml-lang="en-US" id="par_id3157958" role="paragraph" l10n="CHG" oldref="23"><ahelp hid="cui/ui/optlanguagespage/localesetting">Specifies the locale setting of the country setting. This influences settings for numbering, currency and units of measure.</ahelp></paragraph>
<paragraph xml-lang="en-US" id="par_id0125201009445950" role="paragraph" l10n="NEW">The "Default" entry selects the locale setting that is selected for the operating system.</paragraph>
<paragraph xml-lang="en-US" id="par_id3156410" role="paragraph" l10n="U" oldref="27">A change in this field is immediately applicable. However, some formats that were formatted by default change only if the document is newly loaded.</paragraph>

<paragraph xml-lang="en-US" id="par_idN106E2" role="paragraph" l10n="NEW"><ahelp hid=".">Specifies to use the decimal separator key that is set in your system when you press the respective key on the number pad.</ahelp></paragraph>
<paragraph xml-lang="en-US" id="par_idN106F1" role="paragraph" l10n="NEW">If this checkbox is activated, the character shown after "Same as locale setting" is inserted when you press the key on the number pad. If this checkbox is not activated, the character that your keyboard driver software provides is inserted.</paragraph>

oldref="24">Default currency</paragraph>
<paragraph xml-lang="en-US" id="par_id3145120" role="paragraph" l10n="U" oldref="25"><ahelp hid="cui/ui/optlanguagespage/currencylb">Specifies the default currency that is used for the currency format and the currency fields.</ahelp> If you change the locale setting, the default currency changes automatically.</paragraph>
<paragraph xml-lang="en-US" id="par_id3148491" role="paragraph" l10n="U" oldref="29">The default entry applies to the currency format that is assigned to the selected locale setting.</paragraph>
<paragraph xml-lang="en-US" id="par_id3157909" role="paragraph" l10n="U" oldref="26">A change in <emph>Default currency</emph> field will be transmitted to all open documents and will lead to corresponding changes in the dialogs and icons that control the currency format in these documents.</paragraph>

<paragraph xml-lang="en-US" id="hd_id31472109" role="heading" level="3">Date acceptance patterns</paragraph>
<paragraph xml-lang="en-US" id="par_id3145121" role="paragraph"><ahelp hid=".">Specifies the date acceptance patterns for the current locale. Calc spreadsheet and Writer table cell input needs to match locale dependent date acceptance patterns before it is recognized as a valid date.</ahelp> Default locale dependent date acceptance patterns are generated build time, but it is possible to add more or modify them in this edit box.</paragraph>
<paragraph xml-lang="en-US" id="par_id3148492" role="paragraph">Additionally to the date acceptance patterns defined here, every locale accepts input in an ISO 8601 Y-M-D pattern, and since %PRODUCTNAME 3.5 that also leads to the YYYY-MM-DD format being applied.</paragraph>
<paragraph xml-lang="en-US" id="par_id3157939" role="paragraph">Syntax: <emph>Y</emph> means year, <emph>M</emph> means month, and <emph>D</emph> means day, regardless of localizaton.</paragraph>
