<paragraph role="paragraph" id="par_id3401287" xml-lang="en-US" l10n="NEW">An error bar is an indicator line that spans over a range from y - NegativeErrorValue to y + PositiveErrorValue. In this term, y is the value of the data point. When "standard deviation" is selected, y is the mean value of the data series. NegativeErrorValue and PositiveErrorValue are the amounts calculated by the error bar function or given explicitly.</paragraph>
<paragraph role="note" id="par_id3153965" xml-lang="en-US" l10n="CHG" oldref="23">The <emph>Insert - Y Error Bars</emph> menu command is only available for 2D charts.</paragraph>
