<paragraph role="paragraph" id="par_id7147129" xml-lang="en-US" l10n="NEW">Calc can simplify entering data and values into multiple cells. You can change some settings to conform to your preferences.</paragraph>
<paragraph role="heading" id="hd_id5621509" xml-lang="en-US" level="2" l10n="NEW">To enter values into a range of cells manually</paragraph>
<paragraph role="paragraph" id="par_id8200018" xml-lang="en-US" l10n="NEW">There are two features that assist you when you enter a block of data manually.</paragraph>
<paragraph role="heading" id="hd_id1867427" xml-lang="en-US" level="3" l10n="NEW">Area detection for new rows</paragraph>
<paragraph role="paragraph" id="par_id7908871" xml-lang="en-US" l10n="NEW">In the row below a heading row, you can advance from one cell to the next with the <item type="keycode">Tab</item> key. After you enter the value into the last cell in the current row, press <item type="keycode">Enter</item>. Calc positions the cursor below the first cell of the current block.</paragraph>

<paragraph role="paragraph" id="par_id8118839" xml-lang="en-US" l10n="NEW">In row 3, press <item type="keycode">Tab</item> to advance from cell B3 to C3, D3, and E3. Then press <item type="keycode">Enter</item> to advance to B4.</paragraph>
<paragraph role="heading" id="hd_id3583788" xml-lang="en-US" level="3" l10n="NEW">Area selection</paragraph>
<paragraph role="paragraph" id="par_id2011780" xml-lang="en-US" l10n="NEW">Use drag-and-drop to select the area where you want to input values. But start dragging from the last cell of the area and release the mouse button when you have selected the first cell. Now you can start to input values. Always press the <item type="keycode">Tab</item> key to advance to the next cell. You will not leave the selected area.</paragraph>
