2018-03-20drm/meson: Fix potential NULL dereference in meson_drv_bind_master()Wei Yongjun1-0/+4
platform_get_resource_byname() may fail and return NULL, so we should better check it's return value to avoid a NULL pointer dereference a bit later in the code. This is detected by Coccinelle semantic patch. @@ expression pdev, res, n, t, e, e1, e2; @@ res = platform_get_resource_byname(pdev, t, n); + if (!res) + return -EINVAL; ... when != res == NULL e = devm_ioremap(e1, res->start, e2); Signed-off-by: Wei Yongjun <weiyongjun1@huawei.com> Signed-off-by: Neil Armstrong <narmstrong@baylibre.com> Acked-by: Neil Armstrong <narmstrong@baylibre.com> Link: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/msgid/1521555630-29284-1-git-send-email-weiyongjun1@huawei.com

2017-06-07drm/meson: Fix driver bind when only CVBS is availabledrm-misc-fixes-2017-06-07Neil Armstrong1-5/+15
While introducing HDMI support, component matching on connectors node were bypassed since no driver would actually bind on the DT node. But when only a CVBS connector is present, only a single node is found in the graph, but ignored and a NULL match table is given to the component code. This code permits bypassing the components framework by binding directly the DRM driver when no components needs to be loaded. 2017-03-14drm: Create DEFINE_DRM_GEM_CMA_FOPS and roll it out to driversDaniel Vetter1-13/+1
Less code ftw. This converts all drivers except the tinydrm helper module. That one needs more work, since it gets the THIS_MODULE reference from tinydrm.ko instead of the actual driver module like it should. 2017-02-07drm: remove drm_vblank_no_hw_counter assignment from driver codeShawn Guo1-1/+0
Core code already makes drm_driver.get_vblank_counter hook optional by letting drm_vblank_no_hw_counter be the default implementation for the function hook. So the drm_vblank_no_hw_counter assignment in the driver code becomes redundant and can be removed now. 2017-02-02drm: Rely on mode_config data for fb_helper initializationGabriel Krisman Bertazi1-1/+0
Instead of receiving the num_crts as a parameter, we can read it directly from the mode_config structure. I audited the drivers that invoke this helper and I believe all of them initialize the mode_config struct accordingly, prior to calling the fb_helper. I used the following coccinelle hack to make this transformation, except for the function headers and comment updates. The first and second rules are split because I couldn't find a way to remove the unused temporary variables at the same time I removed the parameter. // <smpl> @r@ expression A,B,D,E; identifier C; @@ ( - drm_fb_helper_init(A,B,C,D) + drm_fb_helper_init(A,B,D) | - drm_fbdev_cma_init_with_funcs(A,B,C,D,E) + drm_fbdev_cma_init_with_funcs(A,B,D,E) | - drm_fbdev_cma_init(A,B,C,D) + drm_fbdev_cma_init(A,B,D) ) @@ expression A,B,C,D,E; @@ ( - drm_fb_helper_init(A,B,C,D) + drm_fb_helper_init(A,B,D) | - drm_fbdev_cma_init_with_funcs(A,B,C,D,E) + drm_fbdev_cma_init_with_funcs(A,B,D,E) | - drm_fbdev_cma_init(A,B,C,D) + drm_fbdev_cma_init(A,B,D) ) @@ identifier r.C; type T; expression V; @@ - T C; <... when != C - C = V; ...> // </smpl> Changes since v1: - Rebased on top of the tip of drm-misc-next. - Remove mention to sti since a proper fix got merged. 2016-12-01drm: Add support for Amlogic Meson Graphic ControllerNeil Armstrong1-0/+343
The Amlogic Meson Display controller is composed of several components : DMC|---------------VPU (Video Processing Unit)----------------|------HHI------| | vd1 _______ _____________ _________________ | | D |-------| |----| | | | | HDMI PLL | D | vd2 | VIU | | Video Post | | Video Encoders |<---|-----VCLK | R |-------| |----| Processing | | | | | | osd2 | | | |---| Enci ----------|----|-----VDAC------| R |-------| CSC |----| Scalers | | Encp ----------|----|----HDMI-TX----| A | osd1 | | | Blenders | | Encl ----------|----|---------------| M |-------|______|----|____________| |________________| | | ___|__________________________________________________________|_______________| VIU: Video Input Unit --------------------- The Video Input Unit is in charge of the pixel scanout from the DDR memory. It fetches the frames addresses, stride and parameters from the "Canvas" memory. This part is also in charge of the CSC (Colorspace Conversion). It can handle 2 OSD Planes and 2 Video Planes. VPP: Video Post Processing -------------------------- The Video Post Processing is in charge of the scaling and blending of the various planes into a single pixel stream. There is a special "pre-blending" used by the video planes with a dedicated scaler and a "post-blending" to merge with the OSD Planes. The OSD planes also have a dedicated scaler for one of the OSD. VENC: Video Encoders -------------------- The VENC is composed of the multiple pixel encoders : - ENCI : Interlace Video encoder for CVBS and Interlace HDMI - ENCP : Progressive Video Encoder for HDMI - ENCL : LCD LVDS Encoder The VENC Unit gets a Pixel Clocks (VCLK) from a dedicated HDMI PLL and clock tree and provides the scanout clock to the VPP and VIU. The ENCI is connected to a single VDAC for Composite Output. The ENCI and ENCP are connected to an on-chip HDMI Transceiver. This driver is a DRM/KMS driver using the following DRM components : - GEM-CMA - PRIME-CMA - Atomic Modesetting - FBDev-CMA For the following SoCs : - GXBB Family (S905) - GXL Family (S905X, S905D) - GXM Family (S912) The current driver only supports the CVBS PAL/NTSC output modes, but the CRTC/Planes management should support bigger modes. But Advanced Colorspace Conversion, Scaling and HDMI Modes will be added in a second time. The Device Tree bindings makes use of the endpoints video interface definitions to connect to the optional CVBS and in the future the HDMI Connector nodes. HDMI Support is planned for a next release.
